Company exploration

Pupils of the Willibald-Gluck-Gymnasium explore the premises

Mühlhausen. Experiencing theory in practice - two ninth grade classes of the Willibald-Gluck-Gymnasium were able to do this. For this purpose, the responsible teachers selected FISCHER Licht & Metall as the company to be visited.

The visit began with a company presentation by the managing partner Stephan K. Fischer. The students learned about the history, divisions, opportunities and challenges of the medium-sized family business. "It's not the big or the small that make the race, it's the fast that dominate the slow!", Stephan K. Fischer underlined the many innovations of the 200-employee company.

More than 90% of the companies in Germany are medium-sized. A fact that occupied the participants. Stephan K Fischer answered the pertinent question of whether Germany generally has a future as a business location with: "It doesn't matter whether the machine is located in Asia or Germany, the acquisition costs are the same." Following the numerous questions from the 50 students and four teachers, the tour of the plant was on the agenda.

Of particular interest during the tour were the luminous products, digital design and state-of-the-art machinery. "It is impressive how German medium-sized companies are positioned," stated senior student Anja Eichinger.

Fascinated by the almost infinite possibilities of sheet metal processing and the combination of light and metal, this impressive morning ended for the high school students with a presentation to Stephan K. Fischer.
