Employees of the Holnsteiner workshops on visit

Their work "shines"

MÜHLHAUSEN. 14 employees of the Regens-Wagner Foundation in Holnstein visited one of the largest European manufacturers of illuminated advertising systems, FISCHER Licht & Metall GmbH & Co.KG in Mühlhausen, on Thursday. Marketing consultant Dominic Götz welcomed the guests from Holnstein in the FORUM FISCHER and introduced the company to them. Afterwards, the employees of the Holnstein workshops for the disabled, including their group leader for electrical assembly, Josef Sedlmeier, as well as janitor and work planner Robert Warter and Pia Templer from the care service, toured FISCHER's production halls.

The Mühlhausen-based company has been working with the Holnsteiner Werkstätten for more than 30 years, supporting the work of the Regens-Wagner Foundation, which cares for and supports disabled people of all ages in its facilities and provides them with housing and work.

The products that the 15 employees of the Holnstein visitors' group manufacture for FISCHER include, above all, light strips. Metal strips prefabricated in series are completely wired and fitted with ballasts in Holnstein. The visitor team manufactures around 5000 of these so-called ballast strips per year, in lengths ranging from 50 to 180 centimeters. At FISCHER, these are then installed in transparent advertising media of various sizes and fitted with illuminants.

The Holnsteiner also process smaller metal parts, for example by cutting threads into them. In addition, the employees of the Regens-Wagner workshops print promotional items such as ballpoint pens, lighters or meter sticks with the logo of FISCHER Licht & Metall and produce Plexiglas nuts.

The Holnstein employees watched with great interest to see what would become of the parts they had prefabricated. By the time Dominic Götz said goodbye to his visitors around noon, they had learned that FISCHER's light strips not only make work, but that their work in advertising signs, light boxes, advertising towers and wall banners all over Europe shines from within.
